So far so good..., December 7, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: LG LCRT1510SV 1.5 Cu Ft Counter Top Microwave Oven With True Cook Plus and EZ Clean Oven, Silver Color (Kitchen) Well after researching many ~150$ units I took a chance and so far its been very good. Basically it seems all sub 300$ microwaves are about equal in reliability, which is not as good as it used to be; about 5 year lifespan vs the old long lived 10+yr models. So pending any major problems you can consider this a good review (i'll update when/if it dies). Following the instructions I learned many things; you set your zip code so the microwave can change its sensorcook power to match your altitude; Also you can turn the sound on and off!!! this feature is amazing to me, our old panasonic was LOUD, with people on different schedules, its nice to not make food and wake the house. we just leave the sound off and its a lot more pleasant. also the microwave itself is much quieter in operation then expected.
additionally the product description lists the box dimensions, the microwave is much smaller approx 12.5h x 21.75w x 16d inch(s).

I removed 1 star immediately when, after opening the box, it took me 20 minutes to cleanly remove the plastic they wrap the entire outside cover with. They wrap the cover and THEN install the cover, so I had to use a razor blade to neatly trim it in spots. There we still a few blemishes in the finish so styrofoam would've done the same job. At least I could have recycled the styrofoam. After that I found a small piece of paper INSIDE the glass turntable. Keep in mind neither of these things affect the operation. I looked up the TruCookPlus site and agree that these are items I would never cook. I tried the oatmeal code and it wanted to cook it for 5:31! Normally I cook it for 2 minutes and it's too hot too eat. Man, I wonder what 5 minutes would do to it??? It boils a cup of water in... Read more
