2 Months old and into the GARBAGE, March 14, 2007 This review is from: Magic Chef 1.1cf 1000W S-Steel Microwave ( MCD1110ST ) (Kitchen) Since 1/07 purchase this unit frequently shut down during 3 minute microwave use. The top of the machine gets extremely hot perhaps 180-200 degrees. I requested service online and even though I live in central overpopulated NJ I was directed to a 40 minute away pot luck TV service center across state lines in PA. Do yourself a favor and stay away from large Home Rem. chains who do not accept their garbage appliances back.

Great warranty., February 16, 2008 By halex "helale" (helale) - See all my reviews This review is from: Magic Chef 1.1cf 1000W S-Steel Microwave ( MCD1110ST ) (Kitchen) I purchased this item because it does look beautiful inside and out and I thought because it was a Magic Chef it would be fine, but after 3 months, it completely stopped working. I did call the company and they do honor their products warranty. They sent a repairman to my home within two days and he fixed it for free and it has now been working great for the last few years. It also looks beautiful and is the perfect size.

Even though just purchased, have been using the heck out of it because, as with ALL electronic devices, it will die almost instantly, if it's going to die.
The top of mine does not get even remotely warm, as the one poster stated, during use.
I purchased the microwave from local Menards, [...], and not here, at Amazon.com. Can't believe they still stock this old of a model! Didn't know it was that old yesterday. Still, it does have a 1 year warranty and I purchased an 1 year extension, which I very seldom do. I did this only because I DIDN'T buy the microwave I was loking at online, which was $10 more. Figured I'd get some use out of that $[...] I "saved."
This unit replaced a Sharp unit my wife had BEFORE we got married 20 years ago! It is twice as big and twice as powerful as that one was. May take some getting used to that.
